Late-Breaking Abstracts

latebreaking

In the days before 24-hour news networks, programming interruptions were rare and reserved for urgent news such as the assassination of U.S. President John F. Kennedy in 1963, or severe weather events that required immediate attention (e.g. tornado warnings). However, the emergence of blaring headlines and tickers indicating breaking news at all hours on television and radio has created an expectation that news can be available at all times.

The Late-Breaking Abstract program recognizes novel, critically important research developments that become available for public dissemination after the regular abstract submission deadline. The research reported should be new and of high significance to the clinical/scientific community, not a rehash of previously published/presented work.

Accepted Late Breaking Works are presented in a poster session at CHI 2025. Authors of accepted LBWs will receive email by late September regarding their acceptance status. If your LBW is accepted, you will be invited to present at the conference and your poster will be included in the ACM Digital Library after the meeting. Submissions include a paper and, optionally, an appendix.
